Description
During the First and Second World Wars, the people from the Commonwealth bravely answered the United Kingdom’s call. This year’s Remembrance coin honours the contribution of those drawn from every corner of the world, who worked, fought and died for the Allied cause, often thousands of miles from home.
Enhanced by colour printing, the artist Gary Breeze’s evocative design presents symbolic red poppies alongside an inscription from the famous fourth stanza of Laurence Binyon’s enduring poem ‘For the Fallen’, a tribute to those who died during the First World War. The coin
provide a poignant tribute to all who served during both world wars.
