Description
The First World War was a global war originating in Europe that lasted from 28th July 1914 to 11th November 1918. More than 70 million military personnel, including 60 million Europeans, were mobilised and over nine million combatants and seven million civilians died as a result of the war.
On 4th November 1918. the Austro-Hungarian Empire agreed to the Armistice of Villa Giusti, and Germany agreed to an armistice on 11th November 1918, ending the war in victory for the Allies.
This beautiful cover comprises the complete set of six Royal Mail First World War stamps, officially postmarked by the Royal Mail on their first day of issue, 13th September 2018, and The Royal Mint’s official Armistice UK £2 coin.
