Description
The 1973 St. Helena 25 pence coin commemorates the tercentenary of the granting of the Royal Charter to the East India Company, which had governance rights over the island from 1657. This charter was renewed in 1673 after a brief period of Dutch rule. The coin, also known as a crown-sized coin, was issued in sterling silver proof version.
