Description

In 1989, to commemorate the 300th Anniversary of the Scottish Claim of Right, the Royal Mint released a special Limited Issue £2 Two Pound Silver Proof Coin struck in solid .925 Sterling Silver.

The reverse shows the Cypher of William and Mary, the House of Commons Mace and the Crown of Scotland.
The obverse has a portrait of the Queen circled by the wording ‘ELIZABETH II DEI GRATIA REGINA F D’ with the denomination ‘two pounds’ designed by Raphael Maklouf.
These legal tender coins have been struck to proof quality using specially prepared dies and highly polished blanks.
