Description
To Celebrate Prince Charles’ 50th Birthday on 14th November 1998, The Royal Mint issued a special £5 commemorative coin.
The reverse of the coin was designed by Michael Noakes and Robert Elderton and features a portrait of Charles alongside a thirty-three word inscription of the aims and ideals of The Prince of Wales’ Trust.
This is the longest inscription to have ever been used on a British coin.
The Prince of Wales’ Trust is a charitable organisation established by Prince Charles to further the interests of young people.
