2005 Five Dollar 60th Anniversary of the end of World War II
The Royal Canadian Mint’s new 2005 silver five dollar marks the 60th anniversary of the end of the second world war.
The coin was issued by the Royal Canadian Mint to commemorate the 60th Anniversary of the end of the second world war. It was released to celebrate the role that the Canadian Armed Forces played in the allied victory.
The faces of three servicemen printed on the reverse symbolise the Canadian Army, Navy and Air force. They are placed in front of a ‘V’ for victory and the maple leaf, one of the iconic symbols of Canada.
The dollar, which is struck in fine silver, is supplied in a capsule, housed in its original box, and accompanied by an informative certificate of authenticity and certificate of entitlement.
