Please note:Â these coins may contain some toning. This is a natural process which does not detract from the value.
New Royal Shield of Arms Coin Design
In 2008 The Royal Mint changed the reverse design of circulating coins from the Emblems of Britain to a new style, named the Royal Shield of Arms. Designed by Matthew Dent, the seven coins when placed together correctly, make up the Royal Shield of Arms.
Obverse
The obverse of the coins was designed by Ian Rank-Broadley. This is the fourth coinage portrait of Queen Elizabeth II.
Reverse
The reverse designs, when arranged properly, depict the namesake of the set, the Royal Shield of Arms. This was designed by Royal Mint artist, Matthew Dent.
