Description
King Henry VIII is one of the most famous British monarchs to have ever lived.
He is renowned for his six marriages and, in particular, his attempt at having one of these marriages annulled. In fact, his disagreement with Pope Clement VII on the subject initiated the English Reformation – separating of the Church of England and Roman Catholic Church.
And so, given his importance in British history, Jersey treasury issued this stunning £5 coin. I had presumed we had completely sold out of these coins when they were first issued in 2009, but incredibly I have been able to find a small quantity for collectors.
Struck to a Brilliant Uncirculated quality, the reverse of this features a portrait of King Henry VII, with the Tower of London in the background and his date of birth and death.
