In 2013 to celebrate the 150 years of London Underground’s Metropolitan Line, the Royal Mint on behalf of Alderney released a very Limited Issue £5 Five Pound Proof Coin.
The reverse depicts a Steam Locomotive, in background map of London Tube with pink line. The obverse is a portrait of Queen Elizabeth II designed by Ian Rank Broadley
These legal tender coins have been struck to proof quality using specially prepared dies and highly polished blanks.
