2014 Alderney D-Day £5 Silver Proof

In 2014 to commemorate the 70th Anniversary of D-Day, the Royal Mint released a very Limited Issue D-Day £5 Five Pound Silver Proof Coin struck in solid .925 Sterling Silver.

The reverse designed Lee R Rogers depicts British Soldiers advancing towards the beach while the obverse design has the stunning portrait of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II by Ian Rank Broadley FRBS.
These legal tender coins have been struck to proof quality using specially prepared dies and highly polished blanks.
