This special edition 50p coin was issued in 2016 to celebrate one of Beatrix Potter’s much loved characters. ‘The Tale of Squirrel Nutkin’ features the red squirrel named Nutkin and his escape from an owl called Old Brown.
Beatrix Potter lived from 1866 to 1943 and was the artist behind some of the best-loved characters in children’s literature.
This is one of the five Beatrix Potter 50p coins released in 2016.
