Description

In 2017 to celebrate the 150th Anniversary of the Birth of Beatrix Potter, the Royal Mint released a special Limited Issue Tom Kitten 50p Fifty Pence Silver Proof Coin struck in solid .925 Sterling Silver colourised by the Royal Mint.

Beatrix Potter is world renowned for her 23 Little White Books for Children which include Peter Rabbit, Jemima Puddle-Duck, The Tale of Squirrel Nutkin, Mrs Tiggy Winkle, Mr Jeremy Fisher, The Tale of Tom Kitten, Benjamin Bunny, her small tales for small hands have endured for more than a century.
The reverse designed by Emma Noble features Tom Kitten colourised while the obverse features the Fifth Portrait of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II by Jody Clark.
These legal tender coins have been struck to proof quality using specially prepared dies and highly polished blanks.
