In 2018 to celebrate Coca-Cola, the Coin Invest Trust on behalf of Fiji released a very Limited Issue Coca-Cola Bottle Cap Shaped $1 One Dollar Silver Proof Coin struck in solid Fine .999 Silver.
The reverse design features a Classic Coca-Cola Bottle Cap which has been colorized to match the red and white brand that Coca-Cola is known for while the obverse features the Emblem of Fiji.
These legal tender coins have been struck to proof quality using specially prepared dies and highly polished blanks.
One of the most iconic items in Coca-Cola / Coke history has been their ultra-famous glass bottle.
Called the “contour bottle”, it was created by bottle designer Earl R. Dean and was patented in November 1915.
Said to be inspired by a picture of the gourd-shaped cocoa pod in the Encyclopedia Britannica, it was revised in 1923 and has become the most famous bottle design of all time.
It is topped with a metal cap that has inspired the new coin.
