The middle of the coin depicts the prehistoric symbols of the hunter, the moose, the waterfowl and the sun, and the words “EESTI 2021” are engraved at the top. The words “FENNO-UGRIA” are engraved at the bottom. The 12 stars of the European Union are arranged around the coin.
Reverse: The normal denomination of the € 2 denomination.
Edge: The words “EESTI” are engraved and the same word is inverted and separated by an “O”.
About the coin: The design of the coin is based on a sketch by Al Paldrok and Madis Põldsaar. The prehistoric images of the hunter, elk, waterfowl and sun on the coin are an indication that the Finno-Ugric peoples consider themselves a waterfowl nation, and the prehistoric images of the caves are in line for inclusion in the UNESCO World Heritage List.
