The latest addition to this desirable collection brings the White Horse of Hanover to life on a new bullion coin, showcasing the quality and exceptional craftsmanship that The Royal Mint is known for around the world.
The emblem of the white horse became a part of Her Late Majesty’s ancestral story when the British throne passed to George of Hanover in 1714. In Jody Clark’s dynamic design, the galloping White Horse of Hanover holds a shield depicting the three lions of England, the lion of Scotland, the fleur-de-lis of France, the Irish harp, and the Arms for Hanover.
The powerful figure of the horse is set against a beautifully detailed chainmail background on the reverse, whilst a guilloche texture surrounds Her Late Majesty’s portrait on the obverse of the coin.
