Description
A one ounce American Eagle silver coin from 2021 featuring the new Type II design, the first refresh for the series since 1986.
The obverse design features Lady Liberty wearing an American flag with the sun rising behind her. It was originally produced by Adolph Alexander Weinman, the word LIBERTY is emblazoned along the top of the coin.
The new Type II design is by artist Emily Damstra, it features an American bald eagle swooping into view with its wings raised behind its back and a large oak branch in its talons. The new design promises to freshen up the long-standing series, as well as allowing the US Mint to update it’s anti-counterfeiting measures.
The 2021 Type II 1 oz silver Eagle coin is struck in .999 pure silver and contains 31.1 grams of silver. They are official legal tender in the United States of America, with a value of $1.
