Description
Obverse: the center of the coin depicts the silhouette of the howling wolf in the forest during a starry night. The illustration is surrounded by the inscriptions “CANIS LUPUS” (Wolf), country of origin “EESTI” (Estonia), and year of production 2021. The 12 stars of the European Union are arranged around the coin.
Reverse: The normal denomination of the 2Â euro denomination.
Edge: The words “EESTI” are engraved and the same word is inverted and separated by an “O”.
About the coin: the coin itself is made from a mix of copper and nickel. Wolf in the coin is national Estonia’s animal which symbolizes the country’s wild nature. This beast is a survival expert that is able to protect its territory and family which is why Estonians named it the national animal.
