Celebrate a momentous change for UK coinage with the first definitive coins of His Majesty King Charles III’s reign, comprising the 1p to the £2, which each feature a brand-new reverse design.
As we enter a new Carolean era, both the ‘heads’ and ‘tails’ of our circulating coinage will now have brand new designs.
From the 1p to the £2, eight new coins have been authorised by HM treasury and approved by King Charles III. And today, you can own them in limited edition Silver Proof Quality.
The brand-new coins feature wildlife designs including the flowers of the four nations, bees, a salmon, a puffin, a capercaillie, oak leaves and acorns, a red squirrel and a dormouse. Together they represent themes of conservation, something that is close to the King’s heart.
Whilst millions of these coins will enter circulation in the coming years, just 3,000 people can own the prestigious Silver Proof edition, where each coin is struck from Sterling Silver (with the addition of fine gold plating on the £1 & £2) to a stunning Proof finish.
What’s more, each coin will also feature an all-important ‘Privy Mark’ on the obverse, differentiating it from the coinage that you may find in your change.
The ‘first’ of any monarch’s new coinage usually becomes the most sought-after by collectors in years to come, especially when presented in luxury Royal Mint packaging.
