Description
In 1875, entrepreneur Arthur Lasenby Liberty opened a wonderous emporium in London, England, filled with luxurious fabrics, ornaments, and objects d’art from far-reaching corners of the globe. Liberty soon became the place for high society to buy eclectic, trendsetting pieces and gained international acclaim for its daring prints. The Tudor-inspired department store opened on Great Marlborough Street in 1924 and today, this heritage-listed building is one of London’s most iconic landmarks.
For 150 years, Liberty has paved the way for creativity, discovery, and style. To celebrate this milestone anniversary, The Royal Mint has partnered with Liberty to create the 150 Years of Liberty 2025 UK Coin. Featuring a beautiful reverse design created by Liberty’s design team, the coin showcases the talents of two prestigious British brands that share an ongoing commitment to the finest craftsmanship.
