From her accession to the throne in 1952 onwards, The Royal Mint struck every official UK circulating and commemorative coin of Elizabeth II’s reign. Now, 100 years since the monarch was born, The Royal Mint honours Elizabeth II through a coinage tribute that reflects on her remarkable life and a record-breaking reign.
The coin features reverse design created for this important memorial, by heraldic artist Timothy Noad, which is inspired by the ironwork of St George’s Chapel where Elizabeth II is buried.
