Description
The British Monarchs Collection brings the coins of iconic British kings and queens into the modern age. Featuring remastered original coinage portraits of monarchs from the fifteenth century through to the present day, the collection takes us on a fascinating journey through the evolution of British coins. The fifth release in the collection is dedicated to Henry VIII, one of the most famous figures in British history, known around the world for his six wives and luxurious lifestyle.
The latest coin in the collection features a remastered portrait of Henry VIII on the reverse, meticulously reproduced by Te Royal Mint’s Product Design team using the finest examples of coins struck during the monarch’s reign. Capturing the king’s fearless and uncompromising character, the portrait depicts Henry VIII facing forward, which is quite unusual stance for a coinage portrait. It is the first coin in the collection to feature the official coinage portrait of His Majesty King Charles III on the obverse.
Each coin is presented in a presentation case with a booklet that explores Henry VIII’s luxurious lifestyle, his infamous marriages, and the coinage of his reign.
