2027 France Year of the Goat Paris Mint Lunar €1/4 UNC Coin in Capsule

Description

The Chinese Calendar series features a new animal each year. In 2027, the Goat takes center stage.

On the obverse, surrounded by plum blossom – a symbol much used in Chinese history, art, and lanterns – the goat is depicted in a joyful, childlike manner. The inscription ‘Année de la Chèvre’ [Year of the Goat] followed by the year 2027 appears in the center of the coin. The ideogram of the goat appears at the bottom right of the coin.

On the reverse, all the animals of the Chinese zodiac are drawn in a childlike way around the Ying and Yang symbol. A complete cycle of the Chinese zodiac begins in 2018 and lasts until 2029. Each of the twelve years in this period is represented by one of the zodiac animals. The face value is visible in the centre of the denomination and the wording ‘RF’.
