Ever since Princess Elizabeth inherited the throne in 1952, the nation has watched her grow from a young queen to the much-loved monarch that she is today. Now, as Her Majesty The Queen once again reaches another record-breaking milestone, becoming the first British monarch to celebrate a Platinum Jubilee, The Royal Mint is paying tribute to 70 years of duty and service.
For this historic occasion, both sides of this particular coin feature new designs by the experienced coinage artist Osborne Ross. For the obverse, this coin features the JC Portrait which is only available in annual sets. For the reverse, he provided a clean depiction of the Number 70, the Queen’s cypher and an engraving of the years she served as the Queen
