With the role of James Bond shared between Roger Moore and Timothy Dalton, the 1980s was an exceptional decade for 007 filled with memorable moments, thrilling action, and timeless soundtracks. Whilst the first half of the decade offered fans more of the trademark with and humour they had become accustomed to throughout the 1970s, the second half of the 1980s brought with it a grittier, no-nonsense Bond as the character evolved once more. The result was a contrasting range of 007 films that offered something for everyone.
Coinciding with the 35th anniversary of Licence To Kill, we proudly pay tribute to the James Bond films of the 1980s with a commemorative coin featuring a design by award-winning design agency Bison Bison. The reverse of the coin features the Acrostar ‘Bede’ Jet that memorably appeared in the opening sequence of Octopussy, backed by the titles of each of the decade’s Bond films and, stylised as it appeared in the 1980s, the unmistakable 007 logo
