In 1972 to celebrate the Silver Wedding Anniversary of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip, the Royal Mint released a Limited Issue commemorative Silver Wedding Silver Proof Crown Coin struck in solid .925 Sterling Silver.

The reverse designed by Arnold Machin has the initials EP and the wording Elizabeth and Philip 20 November 1947 – 1972.
The obverse depicts a portrait of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II by Arnold Machin.
These legal tender coins have been struck to proof quality using specially prepared dies and highly polished blanks.
