Description
By the 1990s, four men had appeared as 007 over a period of three decades and 16 James Bond films. At the start of the decade, the time was right for a change of direction and, in the years that followed, James Bond appeared exclusively under the guise of Pierce Brosnan.
The 1990s included the release of some of the best-loved films not only in the franchise but also in cinema as a whole, including GoldenEye, Tomorrow Never Dies and The World Is Not Enough. Now, more than 20 years later, we celebrate the Bond films of the 1990s with a coin design dedicated to this incredible era of 007.
Designed by award-winning agency Bison Bison, the reverse of the coin features Q Branch’s speedboat from the River Thames scene in The World Is Not Enough. Accompanying the legendary boat is the 007 symbol stylised as it appeared in the 1990s, whilst the titles of the decade’s Bond films serve as the background. Meanwhile, the signature gun barrel effect from the iconic 007 opening borders the design
